Jane K. Cleland writes plays about women who love the men they hate, noir theatrical examinations of women’s frailty when there’s a man involved.

Additionally, she writes the multiple award-nominated and IMBA best selling Josie Prescott Antiques Mystery series [St. Martin’s Minotaur], which has been reviewed as an Antiques Roadshow for mystery fans. “Josie” stories have also appeared in Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine. Library Journal named Consigned to Death a “core title” for librarians looking to build a cozy collection, one of only 22 titles listed, along with books by Agatha Christie and Dorothy L. Sayers.

Jane chairs the Wolfe Pack’s literary awards, which include the Nero Award and the Black Orchid Novella Award, granted in partnership with Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine. She is a past chapter president of the Mystery Writers of America/New York Chapter, and a past board member of the national organization.

Jane also teaches writing courses and mentors in low residency Master’s programs at various institutions, such as LIM College and Western Connecticut State University, and offers writing workshops as a guest author in various writing programs, such as Manhattanville College’s Writer’s Week and MIT’s Endicott House’s Aspiring Writers’ Weekend.
